Why do you need to stop smoking? Maine can list the ways. Perhaps the more important issue is why on earth would you not quit smoking? Cancer directly caused by smoking topped all other causes of mortality in the 1950s and has remained so (albeit slowly declining from that high) ever since. And this may simply be discussing death.
Morbidity (rather than death) induced by smoking might result in a sixty-billion-dollar trade in direct pricing for smokers' health care. That is a euphemism for a lot of sorrow! This figure does not include all of the indirect costs, such as lost man-hours due to smoking breaks and sick days, as well as lower life spans with more time spent on incapacity.
Indirect expenses also include the health of the individuals who live with smokers, who need health care dollars several times more frequently than the average non-smoker living in a non-smoking environment. So, the bigger question is, why shouldn't you quit smoking? You remark, "Well, you're right, I should resign." I've tried numerous times, but I can't do it. You have no idea how difficult it is to quit smoking. And my response is that, for one component, you are correct, and I'm grateful I don't know how difficult it is to quit smoking as a result, I'm sure it's difficult after seeing people struggle with it. I'd also argue that giving up isn't the best option for a variety of reasons.
For one thing, have you heard the expression "if at first you don't succeed, strive, and try again"? It is a normal part of life to have to struggle for the things in life that are worth anything.
You don't just give up on one thing, especially if what you're striving for will potentially kill you if you give up! Would you urge your son or daughter to give up the battle if they developed cancer as a result of it being difficult to attend school? No way, and neither can you. You may also desire to suggest something, but I and my body are fond of it because it is so harmful and enjoyable. and I would agree that addiction is the worst aspect of the problem, making it impossible to establish a straightforward appeal to quit smoking. However, it is still not an acceptable justification for a variety of reasons.
It might still be a matter of life and death for one component. For instance, can you let the cigarette companies that targeted you and made you hooked to stop doing so? Third, others have done it before you, and there are practical methods to help you quit smoking. As a result, you'll need to do some thinking and make some decisions. I raised you to be content with life!
