chips recipe

Here is a simple recipe for homemade chips:

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes (russet or Yukon gold work well)
  • Salt
  • Oil (vegetable or canola oil work well)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes, then slice them into thin, even slices using a mandolin or a sharp knife.
  3. Rinse the sliced potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch and pat them dry with paper towels.
  4. Toss the potatoes in a bowl with enough oil to lightly coat them, then sprinkle with salt.
  5. Spread the potato slices out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with more salt if desired.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade chips!

Note: You can also fry the chips in hot oil if you prefer a more traditional, crispy texture. Simply heat the oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 375°F (190°C) and fry the potato slices in batches until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels and season with salt before serving.
