Balboa Island is a man-made island located in Newport Beach, California. It was created in 1906 as a dredging project to create a harbor for small boats and has since become a popular tourist destination and residential community.

The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge and a ferry and features a boardwalk that runs along the perimeter of the island. There are numerous shops, restaurants, and attractions on the island, including the Balboa Island Ferry, which takes visitors on a short ride across Newport Harbor.

One of the most famous attractions on Balboa Island is the Balboa Fun Zone, an amusement park that includes a Ferris wheel, a carousel, and other rides. The island is also known for its annual Christmas Boat Parade, in which decorated boats sail through Newport Harbor.

Balboa Island is a popular destination for boaters, fishermen, and beachgoers, and offers a unique and charming atmosphere that is beloved by both locals and visitors alike.
